You may already be using a dedicated blogging from a to z planner for your a to z challenge, but you may wish to plan your challenge with a notebook from your collection.
This year I have planned my challenge using a cherry wood graph notebook from Field Notes. The Cherry is a grid pocket notebook and therefore is perfect for both lists and free-writing. I just used it casually and with a lot of free-writing and mess and doodles.
The actual notebook was split up into 4 categories/sections:
- pre-challenge to do list
- list of ideas and list of blog posts
- draft blog posts
- posting and promotion checklist for each of the blog posts.
So why use a notebook to plan the challenge?
Perhaps I am a bit old-fashioned, but I find that the ideas flow better on paper. Also using a pocket notebook means that during April I can keep the notebook with me in my pocket dojo so that I have it on the go. What is written down is then “translated” onto the blog. This won’t always be the best choice if you do a lot of research online to put together your posts, but it can make a good research companion.
Are you using a notebook to help plan your A to Z Challenge? What tools do you use?

You might want to copy and paste your link to the blog into your replies because it’s sorta hard to find how to get here from your google page.
can’t beat carrying round a notebook 🙂
thanks for the tip 🙂
Ooooh, grid rule is my favorite (followed by blank).
I’m not using a notebook for a-z this year, but I did last year for what I did of it, since I always write my first drafts on paper.
What are you using this year? Are you just using the computer?
I have many paper notebooks I use for a variety of writing (I agree… ideas flow on paper), but for the A to Z Challenge I use Evernote (app) since it syncs between my phone and laptop. I almost always have my phone handy so I can grab ideas.

I’ve never really got the hang of evernote, but good to hear that it works for you 🙂
