As usual at Christmas I get lots of notebook and stationery goodies as gifts. I love it when people buy me notebooks from their travels as you can end up with the really cool and quirky collection that you wouldn’t personally buy/have the opportunity to buy. I also received a couple of bloc notes/notepads from the Monet House and Gardens in Giverny.
The first notebook features the Le Jardin de l’artiste à Giverny on the front cover. This painting shows rows of irises in various shades of purple and pink set diagonally across the picture plane. The flowers are under trees that in allowing dappled light through change the tone of their colours. Beyond the trees is a glimpse of Monet’s house.
The second notebook features Water Lilies and the Japanese Bridge on the front cover. This notebook features water lillies up close on the cover with the image of the Japanese Bridge in the top corner (and on each page of the notebook).
