Last year I backed the “Drain Art” enamel pin collection. DrainArt features a selection collection of 16 designs. The collection includes:
- Otaru, Shiribeshi Subprefecture.
- Tsuruoka, Yamagata Prefecture.
- Ojiya, Niigata Prefecture.
- Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture.
- Shirakawa, Gifu Prefecture.
- Himeji, Hyōgo Prefecture.
- Miyoshi, Hiroshima Prefecture.
- Hiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture.
- Tokyo Metropolis.
- Atami, Shizuoka Prefecture.
- Fuji, Shizuoka Prefecture.
- Fuji, Shizuoka Prefecture (design 2).
- Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture.
- Takamatsu, Kagawa Prefecture.
- Hiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture (design 2).
- Yamaguchi, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
I backed two pins. However, I really wish I got the whole collections – as they look great. It was really hard to choose which ones to go for.
In the end I went for #3 featuring drain art from Ojiya, Niigata Prefecture. Ojiya was the birthplace of Nishikigoi (special Koi fish). You can visit Nishikikoi no Sato, a museum for Nishikiigoi there. I love Koi fish so it seemed like a perfect choice.
My second option was #13 Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture. Osaka is a designated city in the Kansai region of Honshu in Japan. It is the capital city of Osaka Prefecture. The design depicts the beautiful Osaka Castle.
