Kickstarter Finds 14-02-2016

As most of my regular readers will be aware – I love Kickstarter as a source of new, interesting, functional and beautiful notebooks and other stationery products.

This week there are some excellent choices available:

For beautiful illustrated notebooks why not check out the notebooks from Hannah Stevens (Hannah Stevens Illustrated Notebooks). There are three designs to choose from Aliens, Mad Scientist and Cowboys. These notebooks not quite your thing – she also has a wonderful collection of illustrated greetings cards.

The alternative choice for beautiful notebooks are the weathered notebooks made from wood and leather – and made to last and develop with use and age. This project is one of a number of campaigns launched by the Entrepreneurial Product Design class at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Another stationery based option is the Muse Travellers Pencil Pouch. I always have a pencil case with me – but the great thinga baout this one is it can also be tied or hung onto your bag.

I have also chosen to share an inspiring notebook the CanPlan – this is a planner a roadmap to recovery to help cancer patients beat cancer. CanPlan is just as beneficial to caregivers as it is to cancer patients. For those of you who don’t need a CanPlan you can still support this cause and pay it forward by buying a CanPlan for a cancer patient in need of one.

There have been many options on Kickstarter for smart notebooks that connect with your smartphone. The Rocketbook Wave – Cloud Connected Microwavable Notebook also ticks the reusable box as you can microwave the notebook to wipe it clean and start again – this only works with Frixion Pens – but with a great choice of frixon pens out there this would not be limiting – but you might accidently use the wrong pen?! Seems like a cool idea anyway.

For those of you who enjoy pocket notebooks there is a new monthly subscription on Kickstarter. Printed Portal is launching a subscription club for their organisational notebooks (you may have seen their career development and goals notebooks) with a different exclusively created notebook each month. There is also a digital version of the subscription.

For non-notebook products the Magnetips is a fun selection of brightly coloured (or black) fineliner coloured pens – the campaign makes these look like a lot of fun and so much more than pens – perhaps something to help you brighten up your desk/office. There is also the minimalist tape dispenser a simple product – that looks great.

  1. Nice! KS has such a poor search system…and no subscribe feature to automatically follow one’s interests. Glad to have found you doing this! But can’t find an option to follow what you post here. I see Twitter/RSS, neither ones I do…no subscribe to new posts feature? Or does your overall newsletter push out each post that comes up?
