Platinum arguably manufacture some of the finest fountain pen nibs in current production.  Starting with the Preppy – the basic everyday use fountain pen.

Then we have the Platinum #3776 which is the main premium model in the extensive Platinum fountain pen lineup. Platinum named the #3776 after the height in metres of Japan’s ‘ideal’ Mt.Fuji. Other Fountain Pen options are available on Cult Pens which have Kanazawa gold leaf in numerous designs.There are various maki-e techniques that create beautiful and ornate designs. A lot of them quite traditional.

The President Series is the Flagship fountain pen. The nib is K18 gold and plated. The President Series is also available in ballpoint. A particular one that cught my eye was the Platinum btb 15000p president kaga flat maki-e ballpoint pen created in the Modern Maki-e method where the base design is screen printed over black lacquer, then individually hand-painted and hand-polished by a Maki-e artist.
