We have been using this planner now for a month. I bought this planner on Kickstarter last year. You can read my initial Kickstarter Find post here. However, as a quick recap. This planner is a 100 day (3 months) planner that is undated and can be used at any time. It is designed so that you “chart your cycle” whether this is a menstrual cycle a lunar cycle or simply your energy. I was intrigued by this concept so I decided to back this planner on Kickstarter. However, I haven’t actually ended up using it for this purpose. I was simply in need for a 3 month planner – so I decided to dig this one out and use it rather than buy a new one.
I’ve pretty much ignored the section on cycles (sorry!) So let’s start with the three month monthly planner. It is of course undated so that you can use with any month and write the dates in. My first mistake was starting by writing the dates in the circle instead of on the line (Oops!) I soon realised when I ran out of room to include the number. The circles are there so you can mark your cycle. However, Once I fixed this I was sorted. The spacing is good and I found that the monthly calendar worked well – the only thing I would have changed was include another month. If you are using a three month planner you only really want to be using one planner, but I often plan in things in advance/book things in advance – so having that extra month really helps with the forward planning.
After this the planner is similar to other three month planners, it has a monthly planner followed by a weekly planner. The key difference is that it also includes space for your cycle planning and the weekly planner is split into morning, afternoon and evening, to help you focus on your energy cycle as well.
I like this split – I am using this planner for preparing for my new job which I start in three months time, I am doing this prep in and around my current job which might mean I do things in the morning, at lunchtime and after-work. So this split has been really useful. However, my only comment is that if I was using this as my regular planner I might struggle getting everything I want to do onto the page, so I’d probably need to use it in conjunction with another planner. So I’ve been using the “diary” section and the note pages at the back for this slight overflow.
One thing that took a little bit of getting the hang of was finding the right pens to use with the biowaste paper. Partly because of the feel of the pen on the paper, and partly because of the ghost effect through the pages. For example, I didn’t particularly like the feel of the ohto rays on the paper, they glide so much better on smooth paper and Pigma Micron Pens have a ghostly effect. However, I’ve found that the simple Gel Ink Ballpoint Pens from Muji work well.
